Full Itinerary
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh Arrival (D)
After being warmly greeted by our Tour Guide and driver, we then relocate to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing before having welcome dinner at a cozy local restaurant. In the evening, we can have a more lively look at this city by walking around the streets of Ben Thanh market. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 2: Saigon City Tour – Cu Chi Tunnel (B)
The itinerary today is optional because it is mainly based on the weather. If today falls during the rainy season, we will visit Cu Chi Tunnel first and then spend the afternoon exploring Ho Chi Minh City. The plan will be informed by Tour Guide before departing.
Morning sightseeing with our Local Tour Guide presents to you one of the most well-known historical monuments of Vietnam- the Cu Chi Tunnel. Head to the northwest about 70 km from Ho Chi Minh City, it takes an hour driving. On the way, we can witness beautiful countryside landscapes with enormous rubber plantations and rice fields. Arrival at Cu Chi Tunnel, we spend a few minutes watching a short video introducing how the tunnel was built. Afterward, we explore and see with our own eyes a secret underground system constructed by Vietnamese people in the Indochina War and Vietnam War with a length of around 250 km. We can also witness a US tank or numerous bomb holes made by 500lb bombs are remaining historical vestiges of a magnanimous period of time. We may take a rest by experiencing real guns and bullets.
For half of the day we back to Ho Chi Minh City to take a city tour. Head to Reunification Palace (the former Presidential Place of the South Vietnam President in the past), War Remnant Museum where we can see countless artifacts, photographs, and pictures documenting the second Indochina war before visiting the famous Notre Dame Cathedral and Saigon Old Post Office in the afternoon. We then back to our hotel after taking a short trip to Ben Thanh Market.
Day 3: Mekong Delta (Cai Be Town) – Fly to Danang – Hoi An (B, L)
Leave Ho Chi Minh City in the morning, southwest through Mekong Delta, and visit the eventful life of local people in Cai Be Town (Tien Giang Province). Then, along the tangled canals, we row the boat to farther island villages to get closer to residents’ life. Have a local meal at one of their houses, join a bike tour on village paths and prepare to back to Ho Chi Minh City.
End the day we set foot in Danang after a short flight. Warmly welcomed by Local Guide and quickly transfer to Hoi An Ancient Town. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 4: Hoi An Farmer & Fishing Eco-tour & Walking Tour (B, L)
In the early morning, bus and bike are our optional transportation means to move to a local farming village and experience a pleasant time of being a farmer with agricultural activities like hoeing soil, watering vegetables in an organic garden, riding buffalo on the rice paddies or simply relaxing by breathing fresh air in the countryside. Leaving that peaceful village, we board Hoi An Eco-tour boat to the mouth of the river intersecting with the Cua Dai Sea.
Here, we get great experiences as a true fisherman by learning the traditional way to catch fish with round and cast nets or how to row unique Vietnamese traditional bamboo basket boats. And then is the peaceful moments for us under the shade of coconut palm trees and listening to magnanimous stories about the Vietnam War and soldiers on both sides in the village. After that, let’s take a walk, and have some teas and snacks together with local people.
Return to Hoi An Eco-tour boat, have lunch and a cold beer or soft drinks then, we go back to Hoi An for a walking tour. Hoi An was a famous town named Faifo which used to be a trading area of numerous businessmen from Japan, China, Spain, Italy, etc. in the 16th, and 17th centuries. At present, Hoi An attracts tourists by still keeping mostly its tiny streets and alleys, tiled-roof houses, ancient assembly halls, Japanese Covered Bridge, etc. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 5: Hoi An – Danang – Fly to Hanoi – Hanoi City Tour (B, L)
After breakfast, we check out the hotel in Hoi An to transfer to Danang for an early flight to Hanoi. Meet our Local Guide when arrival then we have a short rest for recovering to take a city tour. The itinerary of this morning includes the Museum of Ethnology which exhibits valuable objects and documents of 54 ethnic minorities in Vietnam and the Temple of Literature – the first university of Vietnam built in 1070 were still has remained quintessence in culture and education from Ly Dynasty.
This afternoon, follow our guide to visiting the outside of Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ba Dinh Square, Silt House, Presidential Palace, and One Pillar Pagoda which are the most outstanding attractions in Hanoi. Back to the hotel and have a rest, then we gain authentic insights into the local way of life by taking a 1-hour cyclo tour around Hanoi Old Quarter – home of a thousand small businesses who have lived here over many generations. Each street is named according to its typical goods sold. For instance, “Hang Bac” sells silver items, “Hang Luoc” sells combs or “Hang Bong” sells cotton quilts, etc. Afterward, we will enjoy the unique Water Puppet Show and the traditional live performances of musicians in the show as well. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 6: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B, L)
Heat to the East, Halong Bay is the following site which is a majestic and mighty masterpiece by Nature with over 1,600 limestone islands and islets rising from the blue sky. Board a cruise in the middle day, we enjoy tasty seafood and marvel at various unique shapes of islands like an old fisherman (La Vong Islet), an eagle looking for food (Dai Bang Islet), or a pair of a chicken standing together (Trong Mai Islet), etc. Then, we will discover the beauty of the diverse system of grottos and caves in Halong Bay such as Thien Cung Grotto (Heaven Palace) or Sung Sot Grotto (Amazing Grotto). End of the day, we come back to Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 7: Depart Hanoi (B)
